Old Ram OR-713 Viking Axe – Power and tradition in every fiber
Old Ram OR-713 is not just a throwing axe; it’s a handcrafted masterpiece inspired by the legendary tools of the Viking Age. With an impressive total length of 19.5 inches, this axe is designed for those who want maximum power, perfect balance, and an authentic look on the throwing range or out in the woods.
Important maintenance: This axe is forged from 1075 high-carbon steel. This provides exceptional strength and a razor-sharp edge, but requires you to wipe the blade after use and apply a thin layer of oil to prevent surface rust. The leather-wrapped grip gives you the control you need for powerful, precise throws.
Hand-forged for extreme strain
The blade is made from 1075 carbon steel, known for withstanding hard impacts without cracking. With a blade length of 4.75 inches and a width of 6 inches, the axe has a solid striking surface that bites into the target every time. The Full Tang construction means the metal runs all the way through the head and handle, providing stability that’s rarely found in traditional axes.
Ergonomics and Historical Design
The 49.53 cm-long handle is made from smooth, polished ash wood, a type of wood valued for its ability to absorb shock. To ensure the axe doesn’t slip from your hand during powerful throws, the handle is wrapped in genuine leather. The etched steel details give the axe a unique character that makes it just as attractive on the wall as it is in use on the throwing range.
