Compact and practical for hiking, emergencies, and everyday use
Swagman Scarf is made for those who want a lightweight and versatile garment that can be used in many ways outdoors. It takes up almost no space in your pack, but provides valuable extra protection when the weather changes or you need additional insulation. Perfect for a hiking backpack, car kit, or EDC setup where low weight and high functionality matter.
One solution – many uses
Swagman Scarf can be folded, fastened, and shaped as needed, functioning as several types of gear in one:
- as a scarf or neck wrap in windy and cool weather
- as extra chest insulation under a jacket when you're on the move
- as a simple hooded poncho when unfolded
- as a lightweight field jacket when the sides are fastened together
- as a minimalist sleeping mat or tarp at camp
- as an ultralight sleeping bag alternative in emergencies
- as an extra insulating layer around a sleeping bag
- as a compressible gear cover when cinched closed
These solutions save both space and time when you need to make quick adjustments.
Lightweight, packable, and comfortable material
The large square nylon panel packs down very small and unfolds quickly when needed. The material moves naturally with the rest of your clothing and works well with everything from shell jackets to hip belts and harnesses. It can handle rough use and works well as an alternative to a regular emergency blanket, but with significantly better durability.
Built on a proven idea
The Swagman Scarf builds on the concept developed by renowned Canadian bushcraft instructor Mors Kochanski. It is designed to be functional, versatile, and thoroughly field-tested. The result is a smart accessory that can make a big difference on both short and long trips.
