Inspiration for a hike with Game-On!
Although Game-On specializes in airsoft, air guns, and paintball, we’re now pretty good at hiking too! Norway has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, so I highly recommend getting out there whenever possible! Especially now in the spring months, when the trees and bushes are blooming and the sun is starting to peek through. I always head outdoors when the weather allows it. This time, my Sunday hike took me to Storaberget in Rogaland. Not the longest hike, but an incredibly beautiful one with varied terrain and some history and cultural heritage sites along the way.
The hiking gear had to be tested, so off on a hike we went! The most important things to bring are food and drinks! So I got out some trail food and a hiking backpack in the form of a so-called CamelBak, which we call “hydration pack”. The one I had held 3L and fit comfortably on my back.
Tips for planning your next hike
If you join the Norwegian Trekking Association, you can sign up for group hikes and activities. They also have many tourist cabins where you can stay quite cheaply! Not sure where to go hiking? There are plenty of great tips ut.no.
I’ve also just started using an app called AllTrails which is completely free, but I recommend the Pro version. Then you can download maps so you have them on your phone in case you lose coverage. It also alerts you if you leave the trail or take a wrong turn, and you can print maps and add friends. Super app, if you ask me! If you just want something as simple as a map/GPS when you’re heading out, I recommend Topo GPS.
Have a great trip from Game-on!
