Find the right air pistol for your needs – power, realism, and precision all in one guide!
Air pistols come in many varieties – from simple break-barrel pistols to advanced PCP models. At Game-On.no you’ll find everything from realistic CO2 models to precision guns for target shooting and training. Here’s a simple overview of the different types, how they work, and what maintenance they require.
Air Pistols Without Blowback (GNB)

These pistols have a fixed slide that does not move when you shoot. They use CO2 to propel the pellet forward, but without recoil. GNB pistols are easy to maintain and use less gas than blowback models.
Blowback air pistols (GBB)

These pistols have a moving slide that kicks back with every shot. This creates recoil and a realistic shooting experience! Perfect for anyone who wants the feel of a real firearm. Blowback requires a little more gas, but in return delivers both fun and realism.
PCP Air Pistols

Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air pistols are powered by compressed air stored in a cylinder. They deliver extreme precision, high power and consistent performance. You fill the tank with a pump or compressor and get many shots per fill. Perfect for anyone looking for high-level precision shooting and performance.
Spring- and pump-powered air pistols

These pistols need neither gas nor an air tank. You break the barrel (or pump) to cock the weapon. Spring- and pump-powered air pistols are affordable, simple, and extremely reliable – a great choice if you want plenty of power for your money!
Air pistol revolvers

Revolvers are among the most authentic and realistic air pistols we offer. Many models, such as the Colt Peacemaker Antique, have metal cartridges that you load the pellets into – just like a real revolver! You insert the cartridges into the cylinder, load, and shoot. The difference? A hidden CO₂ cartridge in the grip and a discreet safety under the trigger.
Pellets or BBs?
Pellets are used in rifled barrels for the best accuracy – perfect for target shooting. BBs are round steel balls used in smoothbore barrels and offer higher velocity and fun shooting at short range. Choose pellets for accuracy and BBs for action!
Maintenance
All air guns should be lubricated with silicone spray to keep seals and moving parts in top condition. Avoid using gun oil or grease – silicone only!
Safety first!
An air gun should always be treated like a loaded firearm!
- Air guns are subject to an 18-year age limit in Norway.
- Remove the CO₂ cartridge after use.
- Store the gun safely and out of reach of children.
- When transporting the gun, keep it covered and unloaded, preferably in a case.
- A gun safe is not required for 4.5mm air guns.
