Lightstick is a portable and cost-effective light source. Each glow stick is a flexible plastic tube filled with two non-toxic chemical solutions, one kept separately in a liquid ampoule to prevent activation until needed.
To activate, simply bend the tube and shake it. This breaks the ampoule and mixes the chemicals. A bright light is released via chemiluminescence, a chemical reaction that converts energy into light without heat, flame or sparks.
