Do you want to order Air Weapons with a caliber greater than 5.5mm or higher?
No problem! Read on.
If you want to order an air weapon subject to registration in our online shop and have it sent to you by Posten/Bring, this is no problem.
But before we can send this we need a few things from you.
After ordering, you must send an original police-approved firearms application (paper set in three parts) together with a copy of your driver's license or passport to the following address:
Game-On AS
PO Box 81
4068 Stavanger
You can order the weapon you want even if you are waiting for your application to be processed. We will hold the weapon for you for up to 5 weeks until you have arranged an application with the police.
You must apply even if you have permission to buy/possess heavy caliber weapons.
APPLICATION FORM AND PROCESS:
The application form can be found at your local police station and must be sent to the sheriff or the police station where you are registered. The application is then processed by the police/sheriff who makes a decision whether it should be granted or refused.
You do not need to be a member of any club or have the hunter's test to apply to buy an air weapon subject to registration. But you must have a worthy purpose to get it approved. This can, for example, be practice shooting or flash shooting.
AGE LIMIT
The age limit is 18 years in the air force.
THE APPLICATION
An application is valid for 12 months. from the granted date. This means that you have 1 year to buy a weapon from the time the application is approved. If a dealer has problems getting you the weapon you want within this time limit, or you cannot use it within 12 months for any other reason, it can be extended by a further 6 months. Renewal must be done by the police before the application expires, otherwise you must apply again.
Currently, the fee for an application for an air weapon is the same as an application for a permit for a registrable weapon, i.e. NOK 282.
More information about applications can be found at click here.
Some points that make filling in the application a little easier:
- Your address in the National Register determines which police chamber you should send the application to. If you are unsure, go to this link and enter your postcode under point 3.
It is important that you fill in all information about yourself correctly according to what is registered in the national register.
- There is no need to decide exactly which weapon to have. It works for you to write, for example, "Air rifle Caliber 5.5mm (.22)". Remember to state whether it is a semi-automatic rifle or not. It is therefore not necessary to fill in the fields with factory/brand/model designation and number when you buy from us, who are authorized dealers. If, on the other hand, it is private, this must be filled in together with the seller's name and address.
The area of use is what you will use the weapon for. As it is not allowed to hunt with air weapons in Norway, the area of use for air weapons is mainly practice shooting or flash shooting
State whether you have an insurance-approved gun safe (FG safe). This is mandatory from the first weapon. If you have a receipt for the purchase of a firearm, it is a good idea to attach a copy.
REFUSAL
Reasons for refusal can be several things, among other things, it can be because the applicant is under the age requirement, has a criminal background or has special reasons that mean the applicant is not suitable to possess weapons. Specific reasons are not specified, but there may be mental disorders, alcoholism/drug abuse or age.
All refusals can be appealed to the Ministry of Police.
When the application has been processed, it will be sent back to you stamped and signed. You then take the application with you to the seller, who fills in the necessary data.
We can summarize this with 4 simple points:
- Order the desired air weapon in 5.5mm or larger in our online store.
- Apply to the Police for permission to purchase an air weapon subject to registration.
- Send the approved and signed application to us.
- We will send you the product together with your part of the approved application.
